We're planning to have the ceremony at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, at the Osborne Terrace.

Due to BBG rules, the ceremony will begin at 9:30 am sharp, and we should be done by 10 am.

We have some vows in mind, and have found a legal-in-New York, non-religious officiant, namely our friend Denise. We're incredibly pleased that she'll be able to marry us.

Other favorite spots in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden include the Cranford Rose Garden, with its beautiful roses, the Cherry Esplanade, and basically, the rest of the Garden. If you get a chance, we recommend exploring the Garden.

Bluebells Roses Cherries

Standing up with us will be our siblings, Amy Eckert, Steven Chu, Amanda Chu, and our parents, Sandra Eckert, Robin Eckert, Ellin Chu and Wally Chu. Josh's daughter, Rachel, will be the flower-girl.

There are two wide, curving bench seats enclosing the fountain in a half-circle for people to sit on--we're not allowed to bring in chairs, so be early if your feet are likely to give you problems for half an hour.

After the ceremony, we invite you to walk down Eastern Parkway about two blocks, and halfway around Grand Army Plaza to the reception at the Montauk Club. It's about a ten-minute walk from the Garden, and we'll have native Brooklyn guides to show you the way. We'll have a few pictures taken in the Garden and join you by 11 am. Start on the Mimosas without us!
